How we run Novus
A community of founders and builders that work on projects with impact and scale.
About Us
We meet up every Saturday to co-work and demo. Novus happens on Saturday to keep away corporate and sales people, and just focus on builders.
Our goal is to support builders by:
- 01Introducing them to other ambitious builders.
- 02Creating a space that's free from sales and investors, for them to focus on building.
- 03Celebrating wins, no matter how small — because we know how tough the journey can be.
- 04Asking tough questions and providing critical feedback to help you improve.
Our only rule is no sales.

BEFORE EVENT
Create the Luma event:
- —Copy one of our previous events.
- —Update the graphic — we have a folder of graphics we use.
- —Send invites to people on our list tagged “Official Novus Member”.
- —Use criteria to filter sign-ups. We typically end up accepting mostly everybody. If we reject somebody, politely explain in an email why — and say that if they improve on X & Y, we're more than happy to have them.
DURING EVENT
- —Meet from 12pm – 3pm.
- —Send entry instructions as a post on Luma at least 30 minutes before.
- —Bring light snacks (chips, donuts, a pack of Bubly).
- —No entry past 12:30pm.
12:30
Intros & housekeeping
30-second intros: your name and what you're working on today. Optional: revenue, roadblocks you're hitting.
Co-work
Delegate separate spaces for co-working and socializing. There's always some people who socialize the whole meetup — give them a space that's separate from those who want to do deep, quiet work.
2:00
Start going around for demo presenters. When first starting out, you may have to be the only person demoing.
2:30
Demos
Format: 3-minute demo, 2-minute Q&A. Hard cut-off.
3:00
Thank you for coming out. See you next week. Optional social activity — we've gone for lunch quite a few times.
AFTER EVENT
- —Send invites to our Telegram group chat to people who've shown up to their third Novus.
